Gaslighting

Why I'm slow to trust:
I've had gaslighting done to me by so many people throughout my life. People that I thought I loved. People who claimed they loved me. I feel like an emotional punching bag. So I hide away in my little nest. This keeps me a little bit safe but also keeps me separate from other people. I am terribly lonely. I miss visits from my online "friends and appreciate those who do occasionally drop by."

While I have felt glimmers of hope, this sadness has really not left me for an entire month. As I rapid cycle this is somewhat unusual. I am no longer quite as suicidal, but the hopelessness is still there. The resignation to duty with no fulfillment or joy. And I punish myself for not bootstrapping myself up better.

Psycho Suicide Barometer

Suicide Ideation: 9 out of 10 razor blades
Suicide Planning: 5 out of 10 razor blades

This has been one unholy motherfucker of a month! Shit is not working--in spades. Medications have never worked for me, but I wonder if I need to go to the doctor and find something that can temporarily numb me out, at least until I'm done with this damn nursing program. If I were fully in control of the situation I would just withdraw myself. Evidently, it is bad for me. But since my family is still in control of my life because they are helping pay some of my bills AND NO I CAN'T JUST NOT DO THIS OR I WILL BE HOMELESS AND SO WILL MY SON AND ALL MY ANIMALS!!!!!! I have no choice.

I am so fucking depressed. In the past there was always a glimmer of hope for the future. Now I don't even have that much and I am wondering what is the sense of continuing on this way.

Psycho Weather Forecast

You Are a Cirrus Cloud

You're a bit mysterious and reserved. You mostly keep to yourself and do your own thing.

Some people may even consider you allusive. You're hard to track down at times.

People who know you find you to be very transparent. It's always easy to tell what you're thinking about.

You tend to drift more than most people. You're always trying out new ideas, friends, and even personalities.

I found this on Thom's Blog. Thom is a happy, friendly person. He has a lot of visitors and deservedly so. People like me, who are depressed most of the time, tend to be shunned. Well, that is what is. But what most people don't understand is that people like me really do appreciate kindness, even if we can't express ourselves very well about it. It is a vicious cycle.

Blooming Psycho's Funhouse: Nothing works http://ping.fm/HYZ8f

Nothing works

So some have expressed concern that the Psycho has been silent of late. Figured y'all would feel blessed. I appreciate these expressions but the truth is that I cannot feel the sincere kindness behind them. Nothing works any more. I have not felt a depression this bad in several years. I have been self destructive and full of loathing for myself as always. But this is blackness into which nothing can reach. I can't fool myself any more that everything will be okay somehow, or at least I'll get a crumb of encouragement from the Universe here or there via people. I am really and truly just tired of living. I used to tell myself that I have to keep on because someday things will work out. Now I tell myself that I have to keep on either out of spite or because it would fuck too many people who depend on me but are not the least bit grateful to me for anything I try (and fail miserably) to do for them.
I do not think that anyone has even the modicum of an idea of how crushed I was by the failure of my book. Nor does anyone have even an inkling of how much I despise the idea of continuing for another fucking whole year in this nursing program. I am tired of working directly with people in this capacity. I could tolerate my current job, even for another thirty years, which is probably how long I'll have to work. I hate this program with every fiber of my being. Yet if I do not complete it my family will cut off their support, which I need if I am going to have a place to live.
It does me no good to piss and moan about this shit. There is no-one out there who can or really wants to help me. But now you know. Guess you're probably sorry you asked.

For a crappy time...

What the hell is the appeal of shows like "The Real World, Bumfuck, USA." How is the glorification of a bunch of self-centered attention whores at all interesting?
This was my response to a post by Amanda Hess on her blog "The Sexist."
Andrew is super duper uber creepy. He seems the kind of fellow that would place a hidden camera in a toilet in the women's bathroom.
I don't watch this show but I saw your other post about his stupid cartoons. Yuck!
I hate shows like this one. I think I'd have a better time hanging out in a monastery. Self centered twits like these make me think that an asteroid hitting the planet could only be a good thing.

Now a balmy 14 F and that's all the warmer it's going to get 'round these parts today. Wanna c'mon down and sunbathe?

Blooming Psycho's Funhouse: Having children is NOT an imperative http://ping.fm/1eLEo

Having children is NOT an imperative

This was my response to a post at Boing Boing

My only child (now almost 20 years old) was unplanned, but in my defense, I was 24 years old, had been married for six years, and had been told that I could never have children. So he was a surprise, but a good one.
Due to history of psychiatric illness from both his father's and my families (I have bipolar disorder, my ex husband deals with major depression) and his own experiences (my son has major depression and social anxiety disorder) my son has expressed that he is not certain that he ever wants to have his own biological children. I told them that I fully support whatever choice he makes in this matter. There are plenty of children who need to be adopted, and an adopted child is just as much a part of the family as a biological one.

As a not so beautiful person I've tremendous envy of the beauty of @Alyssa_Milano but I can't say she's pretty & shallow. She's a good soul.

13 pages into Diary of an Alien. I may not work on any fiction except for edits until this is done. It is moving fast. Feelings are intense.

Unlike my published works of fiction I will not be showing my family the published bio when it is finished.

I don't want to hurt anybody with my words. Certain parties in bio did the best they could. But I feel a need to tell my truth.

The reason for publishing the real life story under a fictitious name is because I am actually able to be more brutally honest by doing so.

As opposed to my works of fiction my bio is being written very quickly. Its like being in therapy--tends to bring up some ugly feelings.

Blasted Gray Mood!

It isn't quite bad enough to be black, but it is pervasive. I keep wondering why some people seem to get a lucky break just exactly when they need it but I keep being stuck in situations that I don't want to be in. I see it logically--I've never been strong enough to stand my ground and somehow the arguments of the people that talk me into doing these things make sense at the time.
Seeing this damn nursing school thing as having been conscripted and serving out my time, like in the Army. It's not exactly like being in jail but it does curtail the freedom, big time. I'm trying to see the advantages--like if a weekend Baylor shift position opens up where I work, I will take it because then I will only have to work two days a week, 32 hours, and get paid for 40. Huge advantage! They have baylor shifts for aides, but my back and my fibromyalgia make me suffer doing aide work. I can't handle it physically.
I have been having a fuck load of heart palpitations lately. I know they're probably harmless but they're kind of scary. I don't have the money to get it checked out. And I don't have the money to get counseling for my depression.
But there is no need for reform in our health care system. People like me, the marginalized, would do the world a favor if we would just die and decrease the surplus population.
I don't get the luxury of dying, though. I am the only one in my house making a paycheck. I may be the only one capable of earning a paycheck. Yet we are too "wealthy" to qualify for food stamps even though the money runs out pretty much as the paycheck comes in, and I have to ask my parents for money every month. Yeah--that feels great.
My younger self keeps reminding me of what a loser I am--that this was not how things were supposed to be.

Guess I ought to rise and skulk now.

Blooming Psycho's Funhouse: New Book http://ping.fm/bOcT5

New Book

I'm working on a new book which is a diary/biography written under this, the Blooming Psycho name. It will be called Diary of an Alien. All I really want to do is sleep. I'm not suicidal, just tired and sad.
I'm still working on the fiction books but I have lost my enthusiasm. I no longer think that I will one day be seen as a worthy cult fiction author. Just a loser and a wannabe. Even my so called friends told me that what I write is stupid and not worthy of reading. I don't care. Well, yeah I do. That hurts. But I'm going to write it anyway because I think it's worthy of writing even if nobody thinks its worthy of reading.
I'd read it if I wasn't me.
I wish I was worthy of being.

Ditching work to stay home and watch movies. I had a co-worker that needs the hours and I needed a mental health day. I'm still nuts though.
